Grandma Dixie wasn’t just my grandma - she was one of the people who taught me food is one of the best ways to show someone you love them.
Some of my favorite childhood memories were made in her kitchen. Later, after I moved away, she mailed me homemade treats every Christmas. Those boxes meant more than cookies - they were a little piece of home.
When Grandma could no longer bake, my uncle continued the tradition, making sure those Christmas boxes still found their way to me.
Grandma Dixie also dreamed of opening a diner someday. Although she never had the chance, Dixie’s Delights is my way of carrying that dream forward.
Today, every bake drop is inspired by those memories, those recipes, and the belief that homemade treats bring people together.
A portion of the proceeds from Dixie’s Delights will be donated to Alzheimers and Dementia research. It’s our way of honoring Grandma Dixie while helping other families create and hold onto their own memories.
